Welcome to Anthropology of Sport

The Commission on Anthropology of Sports was founded in 2017 and acquired full affiliated status within the IUAES at the XVIII World Congress, held in Florianopolis in 2018. Since its affiliation, the Commission’s major goals have been: 1) to increase our capacity to put different national perspectives in dialogue; 2) to improve comparative investigations; 3) to amplify our interpretations about the impacts of transnational context on sports practices.
